You can do it either way. The cost of transactions is usually the determining factor. Make sure you make that extra $1500 contribution to the account before next years Apr 15 deadline, but if costs are high, hold it in something like a money market account until you are ready to invest it. If costs are low, go ahead and invest it according to the same ratio you have as soon as you have it.
