You can do it yourself. For those who are salaried, there are a limited number of types of deductions. If a tax advisor guarantees to find you more deductions, run from them.

f you are organized, having your taxes prepared is not necessarily very expensive but if you are organized you probably do not need help. It might be worth the fee to have a tax professionals advice. Congress has guaranteed that this year tax returns will have new ways to confuse.

Tax professional is not necessarily a financial advisor. My definition of a financial advisor is someone who wants an annual percentage of your investments and does not give reliable tax advice.
