To get the absolute maximum SS benefits you need to not start payments until you are 70 yrs + 3 months old. That is what 2 different SS offices said 1 year apart. I wanted to confirm this tid-bit. At the second SS office, 1 year later, I had a discussion with the clerk about this. We agreed that it did not make sense. However, she confirmed with her supervisor that the 3-month delay is true. [I'm shooting for the absolute maximum SS benefits.]
