You cannot move a 401k directly to a Roth. Think about it. It's unfair for you to get the tax deferral now and the tax exemption at the end. Instead, what you need to do is move it into a regular IRA, and then you can convert that to a Roth. However, that conversion will be counted as ordinary income.
