You can't blame the Civil Servants for this misrepresentation of the CPI as it was something they were ordered to do. But, yes, our personal CPI is closer to 10% than 2%. Property tax up 15% on our home after up 23% two years ago. Property tax on wife's summer home up nearly 50% this year. Insurance up accordingly on both. Medicare part B up 13.3% this year after up 8% last year (and another 8% the year before that); our backup health care up 13.6% and has been rising at 12.5%/yr for 7 years. Dental expenses rising (not covered by health plans) more than 10% per year.brucedoe
