A few years ago my left/right speakers didn't sound right. Turned out one of my tweeters was bad. No one else heard it. Just me. MichaelRead commiserated with me. Well, I ordered a matching pair and installed in both speakers (Michael suggested I do both to keep them better-matched). So I ended up with a still-working tweeter from the other speaker.Well...I noticed a lot of dialogue started sounding muffled. Again...no one else heard it. No one. How is this possible? Granted, it was intermittent. But it was incredibly obvious when it was happening. Anyway...clearly the center channel. My center is an older SM just like the left/right, so it used exactly the same tweeter. After verifying it wasn't the receiver (a remote possibility), I removed the tweeter from the center and put in the still-working one that I had kept. Back up and running again!1poorguy
