You could wear a glitzy beledi dress. They can be every bit as sparkly and bright as a bra/belt outfit with exposed midrif. The kind I'm thinking of looks like a slinky evening gown, often constucted of a stretchy fabric, with lots of sequinning and/or beading. Choose one that flatters you and fits in with your self image. If you're modest about your cleavage, you can choose one with a high neckline. Or, if like me, you're old enough to have flying-squirrel upper arms, wear one with long sleeves. ;-]

Sometimes these cabaret type beledi dresses are worn with a matching beaded and fringed belt, but I've often seen them without the added belt, but with an occasional bead fringe. I guess you could wear one without any fringe, but your movements, especially shimmies, are less visible. I brought one back from Egypt that was bright red, with gold sequinned motifs here and there, and the motifs had cutouts that showed a little skin. Sexy and gorgeous, but it hid a lot of faults.

You could also add a matching headpiece, wristbands, ankle bands, or footie-things. You'd be just as glitzy as the 20 year olds with the perfect bodies.

The idea is to have fun, develop some self confidance, and look as good as you can.

Trini
