You couldn't PAY me enough to live in Manhattan.Ditto. I don't think Manhattan living is worth the hassles. But there are people out there who love the hustle and bustle of the city. Lots of restaurants to choose from. Some of the best the US has to offer at your fingertips. World class restaurants. World class museums. World class art. Lots of authentic ethnic groups from around the globe. A great deal to choose from in almost every category. Plus fashion. Style. The best of finance. The best of business. Close to the best if not the best in entertainment. . . . the list goes on.NYC is a world class city. Many believe the best the US has to offer. Some enjoy all of that and do not want to give it up.I briefly resided there when I was in the service.I too got caught up in the hustle and bussle, and I could name this and that borough and who lived where and could name most of the streets. But in hindsight, what I really experienced was congestion at a level unimaginable to anyone except those raised in Tokyo or Bangladesh. I have eaten better out here in the Northwest. Prices, as I remember them, were ridiculous for just about anything and neurosis was everywhere. When I'd come home on leave and share my stories with my grandfather he'd kinda sit back, smile and quip something like...."there's a reason my granddaddy gave that place (the East Coast in general) the finger, headed west and never looked back...."But I'm sure there are those who will be happy to spend $200K/yr to say they are part of that life style. Good for them...and I'm glad there're there and not here :-)BruceM
