you know that Gary Taubes makes stuff up, right?

No, I don't. Can you provide one shred of respected independent review by a disinterested party that validates your claim?

He teases out the data that supports his POV... he tends to have a bit of a data cut-off at around the 1960's/early 1970's... Now he might argue that everything that needs to be known about *INSULIN* was known by then. Others might point out that this might be because most of the researchers he (mis)quotes from that era are now dead and can't give him an appropriate smackdown.

Clever guy. He waited for all the experts to be dead so that he could rewrite science. He figured out that there is no transfer of scientific knowledge between generations and therefore each generation has to reinvent it. So if he squeezes in between generations with made up stuff, the newborn scientists will stop investigating and just accept his dogma. I didn't realize that science works this way.

he effectively manages to ignore the avalanche of knowledge that's come along since then regarding fat metabolism and the role of adipokines in the self-regulation of fat.

Give us a quality link on that. We're here to learn.
