You know that if they could have looked into the future they would have crafted a different 2nd Amendment.

No, I don't know that. In fact there's a very strong case to be made to the contrary. The Founding Fathers knew full well that the right to keep and bear arms goes all the way back to the birth of Western Civilization when "arms" were pointy sticks. I daresay the jump from pointy sticks to Kentucky Rifles is a hell of a lot larger than from a Kentucky Rifle to a Ruger 10/22. If they wanted to limit the right to what was available then they could have said so. None ever did. There are hundreds of pages of statements and writings from the Founders on the right to keep and bear arms, not a one at all suggests they didn't think there would be technological advancements nor that such advancements should be banned from civilian use.

And then there is the loony fiction that many gun nuts adhere to: that they will be able to overthrow the government if needed. Dream on.

We "overthrow" the government every four years. Get a clue.
