You should study up more on the history of Social Security, which started out with a 1% payroll tax rate..... That's been a highly unstable system which has seen taxes on the paychecks of working people increase from 1% to 15.3% of people's paychecks. And the pattern is continuing, with huge unfunded liabilities for Social Security and Medicare for the baby boomer generation.link?I think you need to recheck your history!Jean
