You shouldn't feel dumb… You've come to the right place!

Hey juiceb thanks for the welcome to this forum. Today I went out and had a look at the local malls, you are right white gold and platinum are more popular. There are very few yellow gold rings out there. I guess I am old fashioned, I am leaning towards a yellow gold ring. As it turns out there are many jewelry stores around where I live. It seems most of them carry the same merchandise, except may be couple of them, Ben Bridge and Tiffany & Co. The truth is I am already overwhelmed by it all. At first I was thinking of spending around 5k, having seen whats out there it seems I need to spend over 10k to get one that I like (then I'll see if she likes it).

As far as spending limit I was thinking may be I max out on one card, which I'd aim to payback within 12 months. By the way most stores said they have a 90 day exchange or return policy. So I am feeling more confident about buying one on my own.
