Your post really doesn't belong on this board, but I'm going to make an equally inappropraite reply anyhow-
Strange- the excess money Americans spend on clothing, housing, and most other items compared to other parts of the world is considered "good", showing our higher standard of living. But the excess we spend on health care is "bad".
I was in London a few years ago and developed a health problem, leading to a visit to a highly qualified specialist. The noticable thing about his waiting room was the number of patients that appeared to be foreign, especially middle eastern descent. Apparently native Brits had to be satisfied with the less qualified doctors available under socialized medicine.
IMHO, the single biggest problem with US health care is laws allowing tax deductability of health insurance premiums at the corporate level. There is no incentive to save money if someone else is paying. That flaw is handled by rationing in most countries with central payment. Personally I would like to able to chose whether I want to spend money for health care or for other consumer items.
Meanwhile most of the rest of the world is parasitic off of our developments in new drugs and treatments. Tapeworms get a cheap ride too.
