Zigo is selling at a price level more suitable to companies losing money. This is a small stock ideal for investors. I would not be suprised if as soon as the bad news is though zigo triples or quads. However, i also expect zigo to see <10 before it sees >30.

The Zigo story that makes this stock so attractive is the automation of metrology. Zigo a year and a half ago aquired an automation company. Just now are the products being automated. This means that instead of Zigo's products being in every quality assurance lab, now Zigo products will be on every factory line. This market is 100s of times greater than their current QA market.

Anyone else watching ZIGO? I just love to talk about this stock.

I bought in April at 21. I'm down 40% since then. But fundamentals and earnings still seem to be OK, so I'm holding on for the long haul. I am glad to see there is someone else who thinks this is a sound company. I was beginning to wonder if I was missing something. You've renewed my faith (at least somewhat. -40% is a big bite ... I didn't expect a fall that big.)

ouch ZIGO is down BIG time. Trouble in asia? Trouble in their new divisions. However, ZIGO is sitting on 28 mil in cash (for a 100 mil company) so I think they can stand a long trouble.

Zigo is WAY cheap

book vale is 6.5 Zigo stock is 9.75

cash is 2.6

really the stock is a 7 doller stock

however, earnings don't look good.

What do you think?

Well, I'm bummed, needless to say. Luckily I only put a small position on this company, but it still hurts to be down 50%.

I'm assuming the problem is mainly Asia-related, and hoping the next upturn in the disk drive / chip industries will push the stock price back up again. Unfortunately, I think it may be just as likely that it will stay in the doldrums for quite a while. Might as well toss a coin at this point.

On the positive side, Zygo seems to be looking for new markets for their devices in industries other than drives and chips. Inroads there would really help in the medium to long term.

Given what still seem like solid fundamentals, I guess I'll hold on until further notice. I just hope they're not cooking the books. I'm not experienced enough to be able to tell.

This may eventually turn out to be a mistake I'll have to admit I made ... and move on to something better. But I'm long for now.

Read the yahoo msg boards for more info Alan. There are quite a few employees who post what seems to me to be semi inside info on the state of Zygo.
