While going through the annual report and the 13F, I've noticed a discrepancy in the reported number of shares held in WFC. According to the 13F, Berkshire and its subsidiaries hold 479,704,270 shares of WFC. According to the annual letter to shareholders, that number is 500,000,000.

It is my understanding that the 13F reports stock ownership as of the closing date for the respective quarter. Am I missing something on this?
