Anyone who is to cast a vote on this MUST be required to first read 'Lord of the Flies' by Golding and 'The Killing Fields' by Sydney Schanberg. Let's not lose sight of what happens when children are empowered.

Anyone who wants to see what happens when adults are put in charge can simply read a history book to learn about wars, genocides, holocaust, slavery, torture, etc. Let's not lose sight of what happens when adults are empowered.

I'm sure letting children who we don't allow to consent to have sex, smoke, serve in the military, drink and a host of other things due to their undeveloped judgement skills make one of the most important decisions that can be made will fix all of the evils you describe. I notice you make no mention in those history books about the good done by those adults in your obviously slanted viewpoint.

So tracking this thread of logic, you're saying we should not allow adults to have control? If so, then shouldn't knives be banned because they've been used to stab others? How about hammers banned because one was used to commit a murder?

Can't remember who coined the term, but a 'reality sphere' was defined as the space around us that is 'real'....meaning, how far out in time and space one goes to gather information to make decisions. Children, by definition, have very small reality sphere's, as they have no education/experience to understand the effect on some distant event (in time or space) a current decision will have. They tend to live in the 'here-and-now' space. Maturity, by definiton, expands the reality sphere of the individual. Whether that expanded understanding leads to decisions of benefit or detriment to those around them depends on the individual.

Our culture would improve markedly if the voting age were raised to 25.

and/or

-eliminate from voting those who use and accept the term democratic socialist. Our country is neither socialist or a democracy. Adding the word democratic to the term socialist in an effort to make socialism more palatable is dishonest.

I have more but I'll leave it there.

I don't subscribe to this of course as it doesn't conform to the Constitution of our REPUBLIC.
