I have an extension for my 2007 taxes. All 2007 taxes were paid or withheld during 2007. I am expecting a refund for 2007. If I apply my refund to 2008 estimated taxes when I file on 10/15, when do they consider that my 2008 estimated payment was made - on 10/15/2008 or in 2007 when it was actually paid?
