Best planning ever for us.

We owed $990 in federal taxes. No penalties and the government loaned us money which we had parked in a money market paying over 2%.

Due to the lowered rates, I switched my retirement savings to Roth instead of regular and paid quarterly taxes.

So our total taxes went up due to our changed retirement savings, but hopefully our lifetime taxes went down by prepaying them now.

This seems appropriate for this board as a way of my saying hello, long time no see.
