I think there is a good chance that the abortion issue may be the surprise of the 2022 elections. The Supreme Court will hear opening arguments today on an abortion law case that could mean the reversal of Roe v. Wade. If that happens, abortion rights suddenly becomes a state issue and who one elects to the state legislature and governorship takes on added importance.

The demise of Roe V Wade might motivate suburban women and young voters in 2022 the way the disdain for trump did in 2020. Few things focus the attention more than a long-held right being taken away.
