The economy is moving forward....slowly...but steady. Unemployment remains at historic lows and trade agreements gradually become more favorable to US workers adding to the core manufacturing jobs vital to any growing economy.....while Fed income tax for all but the Blue States, remains low. You'd think DT and Friends would be content and confident that, providing this trend continues, re-election looks ever more favorable. But alas, it is not. Nope. It's too close to be so confident. So the Donald needs more help. He needs assistance. He needs support he cannot get himself. He needs THE SQUAD!!

In doing her part....in making her own contribution towards Trumps re-election....Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib has now formally proposed a $20/hr minimum wage. It seems $15/hr as recently passed by the House, just don't cut it. That dog just don't hunt!

Ben Shapiro, always a man of few but pointed words, commented on this proposal, by saying.... "They should make it $1,000 an hour and cure income inequality inside of a month, obviously. These radical Democratic policy proposals are the political equivalent of the pitch for the Fyre Festival."

Of course, the right honorable Rashida knows the minimum wage has absolutely nothing to do with a living wage, as this is not what it is for. Minimum wage jobs are vital to any mature economy, in that they provide entry level working jobs to train and indoctrinate 15 to 18 year olds into the work force by requiring them to learn the basic job skills of dress, boss interaction, promptness, courtesy and basic business operations...skills vital to their developmental future that cannot be gotten from a classroom. Our dear Rashida also knows that minimum wage food services provides affordable dining-out to young families on very limited budgets, who could not afford formal dining. She's also keenly aware that as workers age and gain experience, they move on to higher paying jobs, leaving open their former minimum wage jobs for other youngsters getting their first experience, and that virtually NO ONE makes even a short career of working behind the counter at MacDonalds. Yup, she knows all this. But clearly, she's devoted to Donald Trump and his re-election bid, and she's willing to lay down her reputation as a completely disconnected socialist malcontent whose IQ matches her hat size. She, and her 3 dedicated comrades, are willing to build a brand of total baffoonery to drive a wedge through the established Democrat caucus, building ever more support to the Trump re-election campaign.

What a trooper!!

She is a total idiot. $20 isn't even a living wage, that only comes out to $40k/year. That won't keep you sheltered and fed in the elite coastal areas. She should be demanding $50/hr. Go big or go home.

<Why not just make it a million?>

This elite group that she belongs to is a few brain cells short of normal in matters of economics.

Yesterday on the local NY news, I saw a report on the brilliant AOC making photo ops on a street in Queens. She was there because the congress people are now on a 6 week recess from doing the "work of the people". The reporter commented to her that when she puts something forward, the response is usually "How are you going to pay for it?"

In this particular case the topic was infrastructure. AOC answered by saying "It is not an expense, it is an investment. We will get back $6.00 for every dollar we invest in infrastructure". I couldn't believe I heard her say that, so I hit the reverse button on the remote to hear it again. That is exactly what she said. This is the policy leader of the democratic party.

So in her world, there is an infinite amount of resources and funds available to plunk down on her favorite projects. One does not have to actually pay for it because it will provide a positive return later on.

There is no difference in critical thinking ability between espousing that and bumping up minimum wages to nosebleed levels. I don't believe summer school will help at this point. At least AOC should be grateful that she can always fall back on her bartending skills.
