2B-KERRVILLE DAILY TIMES Wednesday, July 13, 1988 Wedding Cortes-Bacon Susan Elizabeth Cortes and Dr. Thomas Ivey Bacon exchanged wedding vows July 9 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church on the Plains in Lubbock. The Rev. David Price officiated. Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Earl E. Cortes of Kerrville and her grandmother is Mrs. E.R. Mosby of Kerrville. Grandmother of the groom is Mrs. W.B. Atkins of Lubbock. Honor attendants were Kathryn Bacon of Austin, niece of the bridegroom, and William L. Bacon of Lubbock, brother of the groom. Also attending were Nathalee Taylor of Lubbock and John Bacon of Lubbock, son of the groom. The lessons and prayers were read by Barbara Hailey of Hunt, John Bacon and David Cortes of Amarillo, brother of the bride. Acting as crucifer was Robert Bacon of Lubbock, nephew of the groom. The bride received her bachelor's and master's degree from Texas Tech University. The groom also attended Texas Tech University and received his doctor of philosophy in Germanic studies from the University of Texas at Austin. He is employed by Texas Tech as a professor of German literature. After a honeymoon in Colorado Springs, the couple will reside in Lubbock.
