I can't even remember how many decades ago it was that I was poking around on both sides of the Sierra, trying to find a place to resettle to. I liked the old parts of Reno a lot, and house prices were reasonable, just as they were when I poked around in Spokane before it, too, was "discovered". Oh, well. "Paths not taken..." to echo Frost.

I knew at the time I bought that Reno bond that it was a lottery ticket that might not pay off. But my entry price (39.35 with commish, now trading at 79 something) meant I wasn't risking much money, which tends to be my investing style: "Buy widely. Buy small".
