I'm trying to navigate the waters of 401K!!

What is the maximum dollar amount the Fed's will allow in the 401K per year? (married filing jointly)

Also -- I was just informed that my salary is to be cut 25% due to work slow down in my company. I was only participating at a 5% level and don't really want to drop to zero -- but my husband's company has a greater match and we are contemplating increasing his to the max allowed and dropping mine to zero -- and then adjusting depending upon the length of the current crisis my company is in.... any thoughts? (my 401K is not my sole retirement plan -- I have Roth IRA's as well)

Thanks !!
