Hello -

I'm enrolled in a 401K at my employer. However, frequently my 401k monies won't show up in my account for as much as 4-5 weeks after I get paid. So, my $$ is sitting in *somebody's* account, perhaps earning interest (?), until it finally makes it's way into my 401K. On a good month, it takes 2-2.5 weeks to get deposited into my account.

Are there any rules or regulations on how quickly 401k money should be deposited into a participant's account?

I've been in the workforce for 10+ years and I've always been enrolled in a 401K, but this is the first time I've encountered this problem. It's not only a hassle to have to monitor my contributions every month, but it bothers me that I don't know where my money is between payday and when it finally gets deposited.

Any advice would be appreciated.
