At age 70 1/2, I rolled over my 401k to an IRA.A portion of the money was sent to me because it was money on which I already had paid taxes.I am trying to figure my Minimum Required Distribution for this year and it was suggested that because I received money from my 401k (on which taxes had already been paid,) I could count that as my MRD.I would like to know if this is correct? I can't seem to find any reference to this in the IRS instructions.

Congratulations on your first post!

You'll probably attract more responses, though, on the Tax Strategies board.
