I seem to remember reading that there was a way to get 403b money away from the company-wide plan and into a self-directed account (was it 403b(7)?). I was just looking at the returns on my 403b and they are terrible and I can't even get an index fund available (returning under 21% last year vs over 30% for the S&P).

I hope I am making sense here.
