$4k by age 4 may do it with the current market and the help of the fools, but I have a son graduating from a state university in Illinois (In-state tuition) next month. I saved $100 a month from the first month of his life and put it in various mutual funds and eventually stocks.
With his graduation I am giving him a $2k Roth IRA and he will have $5k left in his account. He fooled me though! He will be entering Law School in the fall and the $5k doesn't quite cover it. Maybe I should try the Workshop IBD-RS.
There are worse problems for a father to face. Save on! /ejmcc
