90% or so of Tesla owners will not go back to an ICE car.

They will when Tesla finally goes toes up.

Another whopper. Very few people will go back to ICE cars. Many more will buy a BEV next time. Yes, Tesla may go belly up, but it's not due to loss of popularity, it's may be due to mounting competition. EVERY car manufacturer is moving toward offering an ever growing choice of BEVs. The competition is going to get tougher for Tesla, because the other manufacturers can build on their manufacturing experience, and financial heft, and existing networks of dealers and repair facilities, to beat Tesla at its own game.

I wouldn't want to be a Tesla owner when California starts having rolling blackouts.

Rolling blackouts have happened on hot windless summer days when everyone wants their AC on. Teslas are mostly charged up at night when power is cheaper and the utilities are begging you to buy some. Actually, if there are serious power shortages you may find the utilities giving incentives to Tesla owners to supplement the grid from their car batteries when demand is high. You might actually make money off your Tesla batteries by charging at night and discharging during the day.
