Other than the direct costs of the trades, what other things should I take into account when choosing between Vanguard or a Discount Broker ? Go to the Vanguard site and carefully read the prosectus. Last time I checked, there were major restrictions on exchanges in Vanguard index funds (to prevent excessive trading). For instance, moving funds from the Vanguard 500 fund requires a written exchange form. Fox |
