I've read previous Q & A on this subject, but still have questions about how this actually works. I have about $20,000 in capital gains from the sale of other stock. I also wish to make a donation of stock to charity. If my goal is to reduce my taxes to 0, how much stock(LT) should I donate to cover the 20K? Does my tax bracket (28%) figure in this? Thanks for any info.
