what is very interesting here is that China and Russia have changed their public positions to present a united Security Council front to the Iranians. The Iranian threat to break off negotiations is bluster without China and Russia.

the Iranian strategy had obviously been to try and split the Security Council. with China buying up lots of Iranian oil in the near future, why shouldn't iran try to bully its way around.

but now China and Russia have sent a clear message to the Iranians. Hopefully some creative thinkers can come up with a face saving way for Iran to come to an agreement with the rest of the world.

Facing a united front, perhaps Iran can be persuaded to accept the Russian proposal, which is to process uranium inside Russia close to the Iranian border. that seems like a reasonable compromise to me.
