I see a lot of messages that talk about balance transfers between one card and another. Are these generally done without fees involved? I get these offers all the time but the fees are 3 and 4% of the balance transferred. I guess if you work out the details it might be to your advantage but I just hate to have to pay the fees. For example I have a Chase account of $12,610 at 1.99 until May 2007, then it skyrockets to 18.24%. I just got an offer for 0% from BofA until January 2008 with a 4% or $90 maximum. I often get offers to open new accounts with no balance transfer fees but my credit score is already hurt from too many new accounts in the last 24 monthes. Should I just take it anyway?
