Chicago has a heck of a lot of work to do to get these games. The city understands it is under the gun. Our transportation is a nightmare, and that could be the main issue to award to games elsewhere.

Here is how I see it at this point.

Rio is a top contender, because the games have never been to South America, and the IOC would love to have it there.

Tokyo has held the games, though that should not eliminate them, but they are hindered by too many Asian Olympics at this point: Soeul, Beijing, Nagano(Winter).

Madrid has the strike of the Barcelona games back in 1992. IOC may not want to go back to Spain or Europe, considering London has 2012.

I like Chicago's chances, but there is the fear the city will mess things up with our transportation system a mess at the moment. General consensus here is if we don't have the system in place to move people, then we don't deserve the games.
