so they didn't choose the quietest place to live

I hear you about the nest location. For three years in a row, we have had robins' nests in the 8' ornamental tree right next to our front door. So, of course, for 3 or 4 weeks, we don't use our front door. ;-(

This, despite the fact that we live in a rural-seeming suburban neighborhood with literally many hundreds of huge trees of all kinds (it used to be the estate of the first director of Harvard's Arnold Arboretum - so "one for Harvard and one for me" - but he was paying for the trees.) Also, despite the fact that we left the old nests in the tree as that's supposed to deter the birds from returning. Not these guys - they just build on a different branch each time.

I don't really mind because it's fun to watch the babies get fed and grow up. ;-)
