A whole generation around my age were wiped out by the HIV virus. If I had been gay I'd be dead from AIDS now.
If I hadn't suffered from so much social anxiety during my young adult years I am certain I'd be dead from AIDS now. My shyness and inhibitions might have actually saved my life. No joke.

I believe you. My best friend from high school died of Aids. To show you how clueless I was, I didn't even know he was gay until I was a year out of high school. He really was there at the wrong time. Very sad.

arrete - I guess I'm glad you were shy, andrew. Curt was definetly not shy. Too bad for him. Hope Art's right and I get to see him again some day.
