Hopefully this included contingency for hidden conditions, as these will inevitably be part of any remodel.

and the architect thinks we can rough in most of the rest of the original addition, even if we can’t finish it all.
Be careful about this. You will need to finish enough to get your final inspections and C of O, or you will be harming the value of the house, not improving it.
