Thought this might be of interest. Apparently some e-file returns are not finding their way to the states. The article is Arizona-centric, but it could be happening elsewhere. I received my acknowledgments...did you?? (Hope so!) Of course, I owed the state (and they've already cashed my check...I sent it about a week ago). http://www.azcentral.com/business/arizonaeconomy/articles/20... Computer glitches have delayed the processing of state tax returns, with thousands of Arizonans still unsure whether their information has been received by the state. Tax professionals say the state has not acknowledged the receipt of a large number of electronically filed returns. The problem has delayed refunds and added uncertainty as the April 15 deadline nears. <snip> Campbell said that because electronic returns are sent in a package to both the IRS and the states — and because the IRS acknowledges receipt — that means state returns can’t be filed electronically a second time. |
