I pay $475/month to rent a very decent apartment in a very decent location - probably fairly close to what you pay for property tax.


Property taxes are relatively low in our little house, less than $3500 a year. Not so when we lived on Long Island. Not so when we lived in Providence, RI where taxes on a property that is 40x100 is now about $15,000 a year.
