Police are no more able to go door to dor to find prohibited pistol magazines than they are to find marijuana.

What can happen is that if police have probable cause to search a house, they might bring charges if they find a prohibited object or drug. Or if police can see such an article in a car, or find such an article when someone is arrested, that can become the basis for a charge.

But house-to-house searches ----- please.

If I remembers correctly, back in the 60s during the riots, the police went door to door in Plainfield, N.J. confiscating firearms. Something similar happened in N’Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. Yes, the courts ruled later that the police had to return the firearms after being sued by the NRA in the case of N’Orleans.
