If you want a dog that can actually catch and kill squirrels, quickly, you need to get a Rat Terrier or Jack Russell. That is what they've been bred to do and they do it well. My rat terriers used to catch cotton rats or short tailed rats down in the ditch at the bottom of our property and they'd kill in them in just two or three seconds.

"The Rat Terrier is an American dog breed with a background as a farm dog and hunting companion. Traditionally more of a type than a breed, they share much ancestry with the small hunting dogs known as feists."

Art, and by the way rat terriers got catching and killing rodents on their mind all the time.
