You do NOT want shingles! I had the earlier shingles shot several years ago and still got shingles. It was on my face and even had a shingles scab on my ear drum. Two months of constant pounding until the scab finally fell off. They tried without success to suck it out.

Then it attacked the cornea of my eye. Burning, itchy eye and blurry vision! I’ve been dealing with the cornea issue since Nov. 28th. I can’t count how many times I’ve had to go see my ophthalmologist. Earlier last month after the third attack wasn’t improving, my ophthalmologist decided I needed to see a cornea specialist. I’ve had much improvement with the specialist but she told me I’ll probably have to take prescription eye drops for the rest of my life!

As soon as I’m off the anti-viral medication for a week I can get the first of the two new Shinrex shots and I will. The side effects can not be as bad as what I’ve been through! DH saw what I was having to deal with and he got his first Shinrex shot and didn’t have any side effect. He said his arm hurt a little the next two days. He was lucky because you can have side effects.

DH did a lot of research. The company that makes the Shinrex can’t keep up with the demand. The old shots are 50 to 70 percent effective. The new Shinrex is 90 to 95 effective.
