I got the shingles shot several years ago (even though I don't think I ever had chicken pox). Husband is waiting until he turns 65 to get it. He had shingles about 10 years ago, so I'm puzzled that he's waiting.

What I did just get is two MMR shots. Yup. Told my GP that my mother told me I never had any childhood diseases. He pretty much pooh-pooh'd me because I'm old, but finally offered to do the titer blood test. Well, what do ya know.

I do my best to avoid being around children, but we eat out often and travel a lot by air, and that bug hangs around for hours.

shingles shot did cause a very sore arm, IIRC
