By the by - I understand that the vaccine does not prevent shingles or recurrence
but does reduce the severity. Again, the statistics involved may only indicate that
the vaccine is not effective in all the folks who receive the shots.
The terminology is that "the risk of getting shingles is reduced".


medicine and healthcare is a complex topic - and sometimes statistics are not as
precise as most folks would like when used to define causes and prevention.
