Walt Disney World can be an overwhelming experience of sights and sounds — even for the most seasoned Guest. With so much to see and do, it’s easy to miss the unique touches and backstories that are part of the history and magic of Walt Disney World.

Today we’re heading to World Showcase in Disney’s Epcot, to take a peek at something behind the American Gardens Theater. Anchored on the shores of World Showcase Lagoon is a ship called the Golden Dream. Why is it there and what is its story?

Disney is in the midst of celebrating the live-action remake of Aladdin. The original 1992 animated film is an undisputed classic, leaving a legacy of award-winning music and unforgettable characters. It spawned a cultural phenomenon that includes two sequels, a television series, and a Broadway musical. But what about its theme park presence? For a film as revered as Aladdin, its inclusion within Walt Disney World is actually a bit surprising. Let’s take a look.

In honor of the live-action Aladdin premiering on May 24, we’re taking a look back at one of the hallmarks of a great Disney movie: wishes. Wishes have popped up in some Disney greats, from the classics to the new favorites. So, in preparation for a Diamond in the Rough getting his three, here’s a look back at some of our top Disney wishes.
