"Best Science Fiction Stories of Clifford D Simak" Doubleday pub. The collection of short stories was published on several dates, this edition in 1965.

I just finished this short book of short stories by Clifford D Simak. Originally published in magazines and other pulp media of the 1950s and 60s, these stories are, per the dust jacket, "highly original and perceptive".

I agree. I enjoyed these stories more than many others I've read. I definitely found each story highly original and very entertaining.

"Founding Father" explores colonization of new planets.
"Immigrant" the cream rises to the top
"New Folks Home" explores humans working for aliens
"Crying Jag" yellow rag journalism meets alcohololism
"All the Traps of Earth" Robot AI breaks the bonds Asimov's rules
"Lulu" a robot comes of age in this love story
"Neighbor" explores alien life living clandestinely among humans.

This book gets 6/5 from me 😀
