DD had to read this for English this year, though she actually listened to it on Audible. (She has a variety of learning issues; listening is far easier than getting her eyes to track long enough to read a whole book.) Turns out that I never actually finished the book back when I thought I had read it, either that or I just have absolutely no memory of it. From the descriptions and summaries I got in the course of DD reading it and working on essays about it, it sounds to me like it has basically come true.

Three-walled roleplay-available televisions sound a lot like our gaming environments, just a little more technologically advanced. Short attention spans? Squirrel? At the same time, we have people who love long-form podcasts, people who still read thousand page books (even if they read them on a Kindle), and many enormously complex long-form essays available on the web.

ThyPeace, so maybe we still have some hope.
