Ordnance11, You want to use dollar amounts, not shares. In the end, for a "general" portfolio rule, it is best to establish positions of roughly equal dollar amounts. Once you understand the company, how the business is going, etc, you can chose to add more to a position. If a position is not performing well, leave it alone. Add to winners ... Does that help you?
