In setback for Democrats, New York judge throws out new congressional map

We should all be able to agree that gerrymandered districts that distort the will of the people are wrong.

It's the Repubs that are insisting that the legislatures they control are superior to their state Constitutions, and the courts, and the gerrymandered districts they draw are not subject to review at any level. The SCOTUS has already held that politically gerrymandered districts are not subject to Federal review.

...because Shinyland is "not a democracy"

In a thread on METaR a couple weeks ago, about a new book on economics, I read an article in The Atlantic where David Stockman bemoaned the Reaganite dream of robbing the vast majority of the population blind, to enrich the few richest, was "defeated by democracy". The GOP now appears to be in it's end game to finally purge functioning democratic processes from Shinyland.
