The Fool: What's your greatest athletic achievement? Little League champ? Ran a marathon? Did 4 consecutive sit-ups?
Klingsor4: I played soccer as a kid. I was about 11 and we were down by a goal as time was expiring. I usually played defense but I figured the shot would come least expected from me. The goalie had come out too far b/c he thought the game was pretty much over. As soon as I got the ball I kicked it as hard as I could from about midfield (small field). It was a perfect lobb and it went over the outstretched goalie's hands, hit the cross-bar...and bounced back out into the field. We lost the game but everyone said it was a good shot.
The Fool: How'd you find out about the Fool? (Make your answer as colorful and truthful as possible.)
Klingsor4: In late 2001 I thought that instead of wasting time playing video games and seeking potential rising stars in my fantasy football leauge I ought to learn something about investing b/c the skills aren't THAT different. Some weeks later, at the airport before a long flight I needed something to read; I walked into the first bookstore I saw, went to the financial section and randomly asked the guy next to me to recommend something. He told me to buy the TMF Investment Guide and Peter Lynch's "One Up on Wall Street" and said that pretty much covers the gamut of what's worthwhile. Many books later, I think he might have been right...
The Fool: What's the most overrated idea, person, or event in our culture?
Klingsor4: It's pretty common to hear someone say "This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!" And just how would anyone know this? And the younger you are the sillier this statement sounds when you make it. Personally, I just love Randy Moss' take on this. After a very freaky play that scored a TD he once said: "That's just one of those once-in-a-lifetime things that happens every so often."
The Fool: What celebrity or public figure do you most resemble?
Klingsor4: Have you ever seen "Happy Gilmore?" Well I'm practically a spittin' image to Shooter McGavin. Except I don't eat pieces of s**t for breakfast.
