a 3 series BMW (Owned the older version. Great to drive. Somewhat reliable but expensive to repair.
an Audi A4 (Friend had the 4 wheel 6 cylinder version. Had it for 3 years and had to sell because of reliability issues.
a Honda Accord (Stepmother owned one. I drove it and liked it. Extemely reliable.
a Toyota Camry (Still own this. 13 years on it now and also very reliable).

All depends on what you are looking for. If you want excitement the Camry and Accord will not fit the bill. If you want an extremely reliable car.....I would stay clear of the European models.
